I suppose if I need to gamble on something, these will come in handy.

I take it you’re not much of a gambler?

I am not. It's folly for a captain to be willing to gamble, except in a dire situation. I have subordinates who look to me.

Then thankfully, they are not actually for gambling. If I am correct, they are for a game.

There is a game on Earth where a group of individuals pretend to be someone else, often in fantastical settings, while one other acts as the storyteller, guiding their tale along an adventure.

You use the dice to decide on many different outcomes. You may look at them, then, like… fate.

[This is a very Endless way of explaining a dnd session.]

I see... it's not a gane I think I would enjoy playing but I appreciate your efforts.

I've worked too hard to establish myself to wish to become anyone else.

It is not always bad to imagine a different life for oneself. Often, that is what drives humanity forward.

I hold no judgment or disapproval of those who would wish to play a game like that. But should I wish to change my circumstances, I'll work towards it myself.

Dreams are dreams, whether or not they are played in a game, or exist as a goal in “real life”.

But I suppose that has nothing to do with dice. I hope you at least enjoy the color.

My sister liked to care for plants. I never had one myself.

No. My eldest sister is an Endless, but she is Death.

... Death.

As in, literal death?

The embodiment of Death itself, yes. All of my siblings are an aspect of the living universe, much like myself.
